I was invited to design a New York City-themed sleigh for a holiday exhibition for Rockefeller Plaza entitled “Dashing Through New York”. I served as art director as well as identity designer for the show. Leading a small team of wonderful artists, I designed a Broadway-themed sleigh.
Constructed from the base of a “primitive” pony sleigh from nearly 200 years ago, the Broadway sleigh was carefully adorned with ribbons of red curtain, a real chair from a Broadway theatre that I hand-painted, wired marquee lights, and even a real life Playbill with the name of the exhibition on it.
These New York City sleighs will only be on display for a month before they dash off, so be sure to come visit this one and many others by my creative compatriots at 75 Rockefeller Plaza before the end of January 2019.
